I’m not sure exactly why I became interested in honey bees. My father tried to raise bees when I was young. I don’t remember that he was very successful at it. There is a feral colony of honey bees in the field next to my house that I have been watching for the past couple of years. The new land owner felled the trees on the lot last year and this may have perked my interest in just how honey bees survive.
My Bee Story
So I started out by buying a hive without knowing what was involved in keeping bees. Afterward I started to study and learn a bit more about bee keeping. The blogs and pages on this site relate to my experience through this process.
