George Imirie was a longtime beekeeper in Maryland. During his 73 years of keeping bees in Maryland and his participation in local (and national) bee husbandry George published significant information. While some of his information is dated, the vast majority of his writing is relevant today. His guidance (through the Pink Pages) has been invaluable to me in my beekeeping. This portion of my web site is an attempt to collect and make available the knowledge that he shared. The information has been collected by Pete Chrisbacher over several years. This is not an attempt to take any credit for the work Pete has done. Rather, it is an effort to provide a backup for the data anticipating the day that Pete loses interest in it.
George’s writing style can seem a bit abusive, but keep in mind that he was writing to educate beekeepers. Read it with your 1960’s hat on.
A better way to access George’s knowledge would be to consolidate and edit his postings organized by month. I will attempt this in another portion of this website for monthly beekeeping information. This should provide a running worklist for anyone attempting to keep bees in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Tons of credit to Pete Chrisbacher,. All of these have been copied from his Pink Pages website. They are posted here just to provide a backup copy for the day that Pete loses interest.
